Mister Seahorse

Students in grades 1 and 2 have been learning about collage this term. We have been reading books by Eric Carle and looking at his beautiful collages as inspiration for our very own artworks.

We read 'Mister Seahorse' and discussed the artworks in the book. Students then created their own seahorses by painting textured papers and an underwater background. Students then traced a stencil for their seahorse shape and decorated with glitter glue. Some students added coral and seaweed to their artwork.

These are currently on display in the main hallway outside the staff room. Make sure you stop by to look at our beautiful underwater scene! You may even see a mermaid or two!
