Painted Peacocks

Inspired by the art of Eric Carle, these painted peacocks come to you from students in grades 2A and 2B. Students began this project by creating textured papers using acrylic paints and a range of tools such as sponges and forks to create texture in their paper. We created our papers using both warm and cool colours. Students enjoyed painting their hand for a print that would become the peacock's head, beak and neck. Students then followed instructions to construct their peacock. They used stencils to trace around and cut out shapes for their feathers and eye.

We love how bright and colourful our peacocks turned out. It was great to see all students very enthusiastic about this project. Well done!
