As part of their unit on Africa, students in grade 1 and 2 created these warm African mud huts and sunset artworks.
Students learned some basic skills in perspective and composition, understanding that objects in the foreground are larger, and objects in the background are smaller in a composition. Students also learned how to paint a foreground, middle ground and background, using the horizon line as a marker for their sunset. Some great learning taking place in this lesson!
